Kware lies between Nairobi Airport and the city centre – a desolate area of tin shacks separated by dirty roads and open sewers. But Ann Karanja, one of Kware’s residents, now has hope for a brighter future. She enrolled on a sewing project Footsteps supports in the Kware slum and she is learning to make dresses for sale. “Thank you for giving me the chance to start my own business. You are helping so much. God bless you!”
A sewing machine costs just Ł60. A small sewing business can generate enough income to help a mother feed her children in the Kware slum.
