People born with physical handicaps, or disabled later in life by disease or injury have no means of getting around. In Africa, there is no free health service, and many disabled people simply have to stay at home, immobile and a burden on their families.
Daniel Mulimba is disabled, but thanks to the generosity of a Footsteps supporter he now has a tricycle. “Thank you for your kind support” he says. “Now I will move around with ease. God bless you abundantly. God’s miracles do not regard race or colour.”
Footsteps works in partnership with APDK Bombolulu, where the wheelchairs are made by people who are themselves disabled.
What better way could you spend £100 than giving someone back their mobility?
