Elga Achieng is aiming high. She wants to be a meteorologist when she leaves school! And, because a Footsteps supporter is sponsoring her education, she knows that she won’t be asked to leave school because the fees weren’t paid.
Elga’s mother died, and although she still has a father, she is cared for by her aunt. She attends Tumaini Primary School where she is doing well in class, and also likes singing, netball and athletics.
Tumaini Primary School is run by Footsteps’ local partner Education for Life. It provides a high standard of education for over four hundred poor children from the Timbwani area of Mombasa.
When Elga leaves primary school, she hopes to continue her education uninterrupted at the new Tumaini High School. This will give her the best opportunity to fulfil her dreams!
£15 a month pays for a child’s education at Tumaini Primary School. Your donation pays for school fees, lunch, uniform, shoes, books and stationery.
